The Lubbock Centennial Celebration was a year-long event that featured an incredible opening ceremony and ended with a
once-in-a-lifetime concert featuring Lubbock Music Legends.
I was privileged to be a small part of my hometown's birthday party
by being asked to create several videos to be shown during these events. I worked closely with Don Caldwell, the producer of both events, and his son Toby Caldwell, as well as the incredible group
of volunteers and committee members dedicated to making it the biggest celebration in Lubbock's history.
It was a challenging and rewarding project that I will never forget.

These are the historical motion graphic segments that were shown during the opening ceremonies. The archival photos are from Texas Tech's Southwest Collection as well as local, regional and national sources and were researched and were collected into
timeline order by Cindy Martin and Sally Abbe.

The musical scores are segments from David Kneupper's stunning
"West Texas Suite" and, of course, the unforgettable voice of the narrator is Lubbock native and consummate actor Barry Corbin.

The scripts were written by Andy Wilkinson, Don Abbe,
Phil Price, Jane Prince Jones.

This segment covers the history of the land, the early inhabitants
and the founding of the city of Lubbock to 1924.

This covers the years from 1923 to 1944.

This segment covers the years after WWII until 1969.

The final segment covers Lubbock's history to 2009.
